Life’s WORC Planned Giving Program

Grateful Father Makes Planned Gift to Ensure the Future of Life’s WORC

Ron Aghassi and his son Jacob

My name is Ron Aghassi, and I am a proud member of the Life’s WORC Board of Directors. I am also a single parent of a special needs child who lives in a Life’s WORC home. For this reason, I need Life’s WORC to be here for a long, long time—so recently I made a planned gift to Life’s WORC to help ensure their viability for the future.

My son Jacob is my life. For many years I cared for Jacob, who is now 20, at home; but as his needs grew, my ability to care for him while maintaining a demanding job became more difficult. I knew that the best thing for Jacob was to be cared for in a residential setting with other young adults who had similar needs and challenges. I wanted Jacob to have around-the-clock care in a home that he could be in for the rest of life. That’s why I am so grateful for Life’s WORC and the services they provide.

Jacob is so happy in his Life’s WORC home. The staff is like family and his housemates are friends. He is safe, active, and developing new skills every week. I have peace of mind for his health and safety and enthusiasm for Jacob’s continued growth.

When I made the decision to place Jacob in a Life’s WORC home, I felt like a great fear was released—a huge weight taken off my shoulders. Even though I am not that old and am in good health, as a single parent I always worried what would happen to Jacob if something happened to me. Thanks to Life’s WORC, I no longer have that concern.

Making a planned gift to Life’s WORC was the next logical choice for me, based upon my financial circumstances and Jacob’s needs. After consulting with my financial advisor, we chose the giving option that worked best for me. I would encourage others to consider making a planned gift as well. It doesn’t matter what planned giving vehicle you choose; it only matters that you invest in the future of this great agency that ensures a successful future for my son and the more than 1,500 people like him who are supported by Life’s WORC.

I invite you to learn about the Life’s WORC planned giving program and how you can participate. We all need Life’s WORC to be here for a long, long time. Thank you.
